About this project
This remote data collection project aims to capture authentic bilingual speech through unscripted conversations. Participants engage in natural dialogue, switching between English and their native language to reflect real-life communication patterns.
The objective is to gather high-quality conversational audio along with accurate transcriptions that document language switching as it naturally occurs.
What you'll do
- Engage in a natural conversation with another adult participant.
- Use both English and your native language during the conversation.
- Switch languages naturally, including within individual sentences or utterances.
- Maintain spontaneity without reading from scripts.
- Follow guidelines to ensure clear, high-quality audio recordings.
- Refrain from sharing personal, sensitive, or confidential information.
- Complete approximately 3.5 hours of project activities.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Native-level proficiency in Dutch, Greek, Hebrew, or Castilian Spanish.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
- Comfortable with spontaneous bilingual conversations.
- Access to a computer, microphone, and stable internet connection.
- Ability to follow project instructions and participate remotely.
- No application download needed.
